how to use dae/daem pronouns:
- nominative (dae, said like “day”): dae prefers heavy armor.
- accusative (daem, said like “dame”): nobody fights like daem.

spells and equipment:
- spectral claws (transformed from daer coat sleeves).
- daisho ― Night Katana + Sun Slasher (wakizashi).
- Best techniques include:
- Lunar Light Spiral (light, physical): Shadow strikes all nearby enemies in a circle arond him.
- Incineration Slash (heat, physical): Shadow strikes all enemies that are in front of him in a vertical line.
- Best techniques include:
- Sun-Hunting Bow (yumi).
- Black Hole Rend-Redux (shade, mystical): Vacuums nearby enemies into a central point where they’re crushed and flung away. This spell deals double damage when Shadow is fighting alone.
- Moonless Midnight (shade, noncombative): Fully heals Shadow’s stamina under a new moon. Heals up to half his stamina under any other type of moon. If there are multiple moons in the world where Shadow casts this spell, the stamina he heals is determined by the newest moon.
- Humiliate (shade, noncombative): Prevents the target from using the same spell twice in a row. Also prevents the use of multi-turn and multi-strike spells.
- Frightening (quality): Lowers opponents’ Physical or Mystical Offense (whichever is higher) by one stage.

- Night Katana is decorated with silver embellishments: stars, bats, and 5 moons. They glow red when enemies are nearby, or when dae is otherwise anticipating danger.
- cannot see during sunlight unless he’s wearing something to shield his eyes (such as sunglasses or Midnight Cloth).
- can see moonlight, starlight, and firelight just fine.
